Dead by Daylight is Behaviour Interactive's asymmetric multiplayer horror game, launched on PC on June 14, 2016. Survivors repair generators one at a time while trying to stay off the Killer's radar — pallets, windows, and smart pathing around loops matter as much as raw reaction speed. The Killer downs and hooks Survivors, and the Entity, an unseen force governing the map, claims anyone left on a hook too long. Each side has its own perks and Bloodweb progression, so playing Killer and playing Survivor genuinely feel like two different games bundled into one. A match ends once some Survivors slip out through the open gates or the hatch, while the ones left behind are claimed by the Entity as its offering.

The base game versus separate Killer chapters

This gift unlocks the full base version of Dead by Daylight — the starting roster of Killers and Survivors, every map, and all the standard modes, no cuts. Over the years Behaviour Interactive has kept releasing new Chapters that add a Killer, a Survivor, or both, and quite a few of them are built around licensed characters from horror movies and other franchises. Those Chapters are sold as separate DLC and aren't bundled into this lot, though you can always pick them up later, including by topping up your balance with a Steam gift card. Maps, for what it's worth, stay free for everyone regardless of how many Chapters you own.
