DAVE THE DIVER β dive by day, run a sushi bar by night
DAVE THE DIVER is a cozy yet surprisingly deep game from Korean studio MINTROCKET that blends two completely different loops. By day you dive into the mysterious Blue Hole β an ever-changing underwater zone full of fish, sharks, treasure and wrecks. By night you haul your catch up to the Bancho Sushi bar and turn diver Dave into a restaurant manager: hire staff, upgrade the menu, serve guests. It sounds odd, but that exact mix keeps people hooked for dozens of hours.
Here you're buying a Steam Gift with the full version of the game: we send the gift through our supplier's bot straight to your Steam account. It's the same license you'd get on the Steam store β we simply deliver it to you as a gift.
What the game is and why everyone talks about it
DAVE THE DIVER left early access on June 28, 2023 (early access began back in October 2022) and became a hit almost instantly: warm pixel-art visuals, sharp humor, and a constant drip of new mini-games and mechanics. Genre-wise it's a blend of adventure, casual arcade, RPG and management sim, and it never gets stale because no two in-game days play the same. Mornings mean spearfishing, daytime means gear upgrades, evenings mean sushi and management β all wrapped around a story about an ancient civilization of sea people.
How the gameplay works
The core loop alternates between dives and evenings at the restaurant:
- Diving. The Blue Hole reshuffles every run β depth, fish and dangers are always different. You gather seafood, photograph rare creatures, fend off sharks and collect crafting resources.
- Bancho Sushi bar. Chef Bancho turns your catch into dishes; you set the menu, serve tea and sake, hire and train staff, and bank money for better gear.
- Progression. Cash and parts go into upgrading harpoons, guns, your suit, bag capacity and restaurant appliances. The deeper you dive, the more valuable the haul.
On top of that sits a pile of side activities: a seaweed farm, fish breeding, photo hunts, mini-games, collections and dozens of colorful characters with their own stories.
What's included in this gift
You get the base (full) version of DAVE THE DIVER for Steam β the complete main game and story. Paid content packs (such as crossovers and expansions) are separate DLC and are not part of this gift; you can grab them later on your own if you want. The base version alone is dozens of hours and a full run of the main story.
How we deliver the game (Steam Gift)
Delivery runs through the FZR supplier bot, and there's almost nothing for you to do:
- You provide a Steam friend invite link and the region of your Steam account at checkout.
- The bot adds itself to your friends, sends the gift, then leaves automatically once it's delivered β you don't have to accept anything manually.
- Steam Guard is not required, and you don't need to own anything or have account activity. The one thing that matters: the game must not already be in your library β Steam won't let you accept a gift for a game you already own.
- Your Steam account region must match the gift region, otherwise Steam will refuse it.
Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes from checkout, but it's not a hard timer β occasionally a bit longer. The gift lands right in Steam: accept it and the game is added to your library like any normal purchase.
Where to play
This is the Steam (PC) version, running on Windows and macOS, and it's a great fit for the Steam Deck β the controls are built around a gamepad and it's light on hardware. Play with keyboard and mouse or a controller, whichever you prefer.
Who it's for
DAVE THE DIVER is the "relax, but with depth" kind of game. If you like cozy management titles such as Stardew Valley, the fishing-and-ocean vibe of DREDGE (which actually had an official crossover with Dave), or the shop-and-dungeon mix of Moonlighter, you'll feel right at home. It pulls you in quietly: "just one more dive" easily turns into "oh, it's 3 a.m."
Quick answers
Do you need Steam Guard? No. Do you need to own the game first? The opposite β it must not be in your library. Is it the full version? Yes, the complete base game with nothing cut. Paid content packs are separate DLC and aren't included in the gift. More details in the FAQ below.
