The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime also pulled crowds of new players back into Night City. So if you only remember the "broken launch" — let it go. It's a polished, dense 50–100+ hour RPG now.

The genre is open-world, first-person action-RPG. You shape V around your playstyle: a netrunner hacker who knocks enemies out through cameras and implants; a slugger with a shotgun and built-in mantis blades; a stealth katana build. Dialogue and quest choices genuinely branch the story toward different endings.

What the base version does NOT include: the paid story expansion Phantom Liberty (a spy-thriller set in the Dogtown district with Solomon Reed and Idris Elba). That's a separate DLC that requires the base game — exactly this purchase. If you want Dogtown later, you can add it on top. The base game plus Phantom Liberty are sold together as the "Ultimate Edition", but this listing is the foundation — the base game.
