Legends of the Dead — a major expansion about memory, death and the Black Death

Legends of the Dead released on March 4, 2024 and is one of CK3's most atmospheric expansions. Its headline system is Legends: you commission bards and chroniclers to retell your bloodline's great deeds, grow a heroic reputation through mighty acts and maintain your legendary status with dedicated decisions. Court chroniclers spread the dynasty's fame, and two new dynastic legacies open up — built around heroic heritage and legitimacy.

The other half of the expansion is about death and disease. New ailments like the Bloody Flux and Measles arrive, funeral rites for departed loved ones, and the centrepiece event — the Black Death — radically transforms the political and social map. If you love it when strategy turns into a struggle for the survival of your house, Legends of the Dead is the top pick.

Wards & Wardens — childhood, parenting and guardianship

Wards & Wardens released on August 22, 2023 — an event pack devoted entirely to growing up and upbringing. It adds events around childhood, parenting and education, and expands mechanics for eccentric characters, midwifery and the exchange of hostages and wards. Young heirs stop being just a line on the dynasty tree — they live out their own stories that echo back into adult politics.

Friends & Foes — events about friends and enemies

Friends & Foes released on September 8, 2022 and was the first event pack for CK3. Its job is to bring relationships between characters to life: new events tied to friendship, enmity, rivalry and the personal bonds of your court. It's an inexpensive but noticeable add-on — it makes CK3's intrigue more human by giving you reasons to love and hate specific people around your ruler.

North African Attire — looks for North African cultures

North African Attire released on January 23, 2024 and is a creator pack: a purely cosmetic set of portrait outfits for characters of North African cultures. It adds no new mechanics — only visuals. If you role-play Maghreb rulers and want them to look authentic, this pack is for you; if gameplay matters more, feel free to skip it.

How to activate

After payment you receive a Steam code. Open Steam, click «Games» at the bottom-left → «Activate a Product on Steam», enter the key — the add-on attaches to your account. Launch Crusader Kings III and the new content loads on its own. The keys are global: the activation region isn't restricted.

Paradox builds Crusader Kings III like a construction set: the base game is the foundation, and each add-on stacks its own layer on top. So there's no point overpaying for things you don't need — you assemble your own version of the game.
