CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION: a Steam gift telling Zack Fair's story
CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION is a full remaster of the prequel to the legendary Final Fantasy VII. Square Enix, together with TOSE, rebuilt the story of SOLDIER operative Zack Fair, set a few years before Cloud and AVALANCHE's adventures. The game launched on December 13, 2022 with upgraded HD visuals, a reworked combat system and a re-recorded orchestral soundtrack. Here you buy it as a Steam gift: our bot sends the gift straight to your account.
What the game is and why it's worth playing
Crisis Core follows Zack Fair's path through SOLDIER as he meets Sephiroth, Angeal and Genesis and slowly uncovers the secrets of Shinra's experiments. If you've played Final Fantasy VII, this story reveals who Zack really was and why his fate matters so much to the whole saga. And if you're new to the universe, Reunion stands on its own as a drama about friendship, honor and the price of being a hero.
It's an action RPG: you fight in real time, dodge, strike, cast spells and equip Materia. The signature mechanic is the DMW (Digital Mind Wave) system — an on-screen reel of faces and numbers that triggers limit breaks, summons and temporary buffs. Reunion makes this system more responsive and the battles snappier than the original PSP release.
What's new in Reunion
- Fully rebuilt HD visuals and updated character models.
- A re-recorded soundtrack and fully voiced dialogue (English and Japanese voice-overs).
- Reworked controls and combat, with high frame-rate support on PC.
- A modern interface and far more readable menus than the PSP version.
Editions: Standard and Digital Deluxe
There are two options in the catalog, and both arrive as a single Steam gift:
- Standard is the CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION game itself — everything you need to play Zack's story start to finish.
- Digital Deluxe Edition is the same game plus digital extras: the "CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION MINI SOUNDTRACK" and the digital art book "HEROES Past and Present The Art of CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII–". Note that Deluxe is not a second copy of the game — it's the same game with bonus digital content inside one gift.
If you just want the game, grab Standard. If you'd like to enjoy the music and concept art right in Steam, go for Digital Deluxe.
How we deliver the gift
Delivery runs through our supplier FZR's bot. We need two things from you: your Steam friend invite link (open your profile → "Add Friend" → copy the s.team/p/... link) and your Steam account region. After payment the bot adds itself as your friend, sends the gift, and automatically leaves your friends list once delivered. You don't need to accept the friend request manually, and Steam Guard is not required. The whole process usually takes a couple of minutes.
Key condition: region and library
Steam gifts are region-sensitive. Your account region must match the region of the gift you pick, otherwise Steam simply won't let you accept it. One more key condition: the recipient account must not already own Crisis Core –FFVII– Reunion — you can't accept a gift for a game that's already in the library. So before buying, make sure your region matches your choice and that the target account doesn't already have the game.
Platform and requirements
The game is distributed on Steam and built for Windows PCs. Reunion isn't a demanding title: it runs comfortably on modern mid-range machines and supports high frame rates. Once you accept the gift, the game stays in your Steam library permanently, like any normal purchase.
If you love the Final Fantasy universe
After Crisis Core it makes sense to explore other Square Enix titles in the universe: FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE continues the same story in a modern form, FINAL FANTASY XVI offers a darker next-gen action RPG, and STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN is a fast-paced combat spin-off rooted in the series' origins.
Quick FAQ
Do you need Steam Guard? No. What's different about Deluxe? The same game plus a soundtrack and art book. Is there Russian language? No official Russian; voice-overs are English and Japanese, with subtitles in several languages. What if the bot didn't add you? Most likely friend requests are disabled or the link expired — send a fresh one and check your profile privacy.
