Core Keeper — Buy as a Steam Gift
You climb down into a dark cavern with a single torch, a pickaxe and a bit of curiosity — and a dozen hours later you've got a whole underground base running, complete with ore conveyor belts, glowing mushroom plots and a mob farm. That's Core Keeper: a cozy survival sandbox from Swedish studio Pugstorm built around mining, crafting, automation and battles with giant bosses in an endless procedural underworld. There's no brutal hunger-timer pressure here — instead you get exploration, base-building and a calm, quietly addictive grind that swallows hundreds of hours. We deliver the full 1.0 version as a Steam Gift straight to your account.
What Core Keeper is and why it's so addictive
The game left Early Access and hit its 1.0 release on 27 August 2024, after more than two years of polish since March 2022. In that time Core Keeper grew from a small indie title into a full adventure with a dozen biomes, bosses, fishing, cooking, farming and deep automation. You start with almost nothing beside the glowing Core at the center of the map, and from there you decide which way to dig: deeper for rare ores and bosses, or wider to build your home, lay rails and set up production chains.
The core appeal is the balance between Minecraft-style building freedom and Terraria-style boss fights. You're not just chipping at walls — you plan logistics, place drills and conveyors, raise livestock, cook buff-food tailored to a specific boss, and gradually master ever deeper, more dangerous layers of the cavern. And when you want more, you bring friends.
Co-op for up to 8 players
Core Keeper supports online co-op for up to eight players in a single world. You can split roles: one farms ore, another builds the base, another levels up combat and leads the party against bosses. World progress is shared, and co-op is where the game truly shines — a large underground colony built together looks genuinely impressive. Note that each player needs their own copy, so feel free to grab the gift for yourself and for whoever you plan to dig with.
What's included in the gift
You get the full base version of Core Keeper 1.0 for Steam (PC). That's the entire game: all biomes, bosses, modes and release content, plus the free updates the developers continue to ship for the base game. No Early Access, no cut-down build — it's a finished product. Once you accept the gift, the game lands in your Steam library as a permanent purchase, just like buying it yourself.

How we deliver the gift
Delivery goes through Steam Gift: our bot adds itself as your friend via your invite link, sends the gift, and automatically removes itself once it's delivered. You don't need to accept a friend request manually, and you don't need Steam Guard — the bot works without it. Delivery usually takes just a couple of minutes from the moment you order.
Two conditions keep it smooth. First, your Steam account region must match the gift region — otherwise Steam simply won't let you accept it. Second, Core Keeper must not already be in the account's library — you can't accept a gift for a game you already own, and that's the single most common snag. If both points are fine and your profile allows adding friends, you're good to go.
How to activate after you receive it
The steps are simple: provide your friend invite link and account region at checkout, pay, wait for the bot to send the gift, and accept it in the Steam client. After that the game appears in your library — launch it and head down to the Core. A detailed step-by-step guide is right there in the order card.
System requirements and platforms
Core Keeper is an easygoing game: it runs comfortably on modest and low-end PCs, has native Linux support and feels great on the Steam Deck. That's handy if you want to dig on the go or on the couch. The gift is for the Steam version — the same one you'll have in your library on any of those devices.
If you enjoy this kind of game
If you love underground adventures and sandboxes with progression and bosses, take a look at related titles in our catalog: Terraria with its iconic exploration and boss fights, the co-op viking survival game Valheim, and the cozy farming sandbox Stardew Valley. All three land well with the same crowd that gets hooked on Core Keeper, and they're available as Steam gifts too.
The short version
Core Keeper is hundreds of hours of calm yet addictive grind, solo or with friends, with no harsh timers and the freedom to build your own underground empire. We hand you the full 1.0 version as a gift on your Steam: check the region and that the game isn't already in your library — then start digging.
