Buy Gems for Clash Royale: packs, the Diamond Pass and the Supercell ID flow
Supercell's Clash Royale is a real-time card strategy built around three-minute 1v1 and 2v2 matches, where an eight-card deck and Elixir management decide the fight across three towers. The game launched on 2 March 2016, marked its tenth anniversary in March 2026 with the dedicated 10th Anniversary season, and as of 1 May 2026 lives only on iOS and Android โ there is no PC client. Gems are the premium currency that funds the Diamond Pass, Wild Cards for deck progression, evolutions and the rotating Special Offers.
- Six Gem denominations: 80, 500, 1,200, 2,500, 6,500 and 14,000
- Diamond Pass for Season 83, headlined by Hero Dark Prince
- Gem-to-Gold conversion inside the in-game shop on a non-linear curve
- Evolution Shards to unlock and upgrade Evolution cards
- Champion Wild Cards and the Champion Market direct-buy slot
- Personal Special Offers tied to specific dollar tiers
Gems, Gold and why Elixir is not on the menu
Clash Royale runs on a three-tier resource model that is worth keeping straight. Gems are the premium currency, sold in six denominations from 80 to 14,000 and spent on the Diamond Pass, Wild Cards and seasonal offers. Gold is the soft progression currency: it cannot be bought directly โ the only route is converting Gems to Gold inside the shop at fixed rates such as 60 Gems for 1,000 Gold or 600 Gems for 12,500. Elixir, the resource you hear constantly when players talk about decks, is not a shop currency at all. It is a battle-only resource that ticks up by one drop every 2.8 seconds (or 1.4 seconds in Double Elixir time) and is spent to play cards costing 1 to 9. Any listing claiming to sell Elixir for Clash Royale is a scam โ the purchase simply does not exist inside the game.
Diamond Pass: a one-shot season buy, not a subscription
Since 7 October 2025 Clash Royale offers only two pass options: the Free Pass, unlocked at King Level 7, and the paid Diamond Pass. The mid-tier Gold Pass that ran for years has been removed โ any 2026 listing offering a Clash Royale Gold Pass is outdated. The March 2026 update reshaped the pass into a 90-level structure, adding extra steps to the Wild Card and chest track but trimming a chunk of the in-pass rewards. Gems inside the Diamond track dropped from 1,525 to 225, Gold went from 498,000 to 153,100, and the Royal Wild Chest plus Legendary Wild Card were pulled from the Free side. In Season 83 (4 May to 1 June 2026) the headline reward is Hero Dark Prince, whose Destructive Dismount ability sends his rhino off to a building while the prince himself stays behind with a shield and splash damage. The Diamond Pass is bought fresh each season โ there is no auto-renewing subscription, just a one-time purchase covering roughly 28 days.
Heroes vs Champions: two separate systems
The two newest mechanics get conflated constantly, so it is worth pulling them apart. Champions are a rarity tier introduced in October 2021, sitting above Legendary: Skeleton King, Mighty Miner, Archer Queen, Golden Knight, Monk, Phoenix, Little Prince, Goblinstein and Boss Bandit, nine cards in total as of May 2026. Each Champion has an Ability Button on a cooldown, and after the October 2025 update a deck can hold more than one Champion, though only the most recently played one keeps its active ability. Heroes are a different idea, added in Season 78 "Heroic Holidays" on 1 December 2025. A Hero is a seasonal variant of an existing card with its own active skill, and unlike a Champion it cycles back through the deck like any other unit. Eight Heroes are live by May 2026 โ Hero Knight, Giant, Mini P.E.K.K.A., Musketeer, Mega Minion, Ice Golem, Barbarian Barrel and Magic Archer โ with Hero Dark Prince and Hero Bowler joining in Season 83. A deck can run up to two Heroes and keep two Ability Buttons live at once. One more clarification: there is no Royal Champion in Clash Royale, that card belongs to Clash of Clans. In CR the closest analogues are Archer Queen and the Epic-rarity Mega Knight.
Card Evolution and the Evolution Shards bottleneck
Card Evolution arrived in summer 2023, transforming a regular card into a stronger version after two cycles through the deck. Unlocking an evolution requires six Evolution Shards for that specific card, which is where the real progression bottleneck lives. Shards drip in only from the Diamond Pass, 5-star Lucky Chests, Album Event tracks, occasional shop bundles and rare Level Up Chests past King Level 50. By RoyaleAPI's math, a fully free player can finish only two or three evolutions per year โ so the Evolution Shards listings in the Brawl Games catalogue act as a premium accelerator rather than a cosmetic. Evolution slot #1 unlocks at Arena 3 and slot #2 at Arena 10. As of May 2026 evolutions exist for around thirty cards, including Knight, Skeletons, Royal Giant, Bats, Mortar, Dart Goblin and the more recent Mega Knight Evolution. Champion Wild Cards run on the same scarcity logic โ only three of them drop from a full Diamond Pass, which makes the Champion Market slot, where Gems can buy a specific Champion outright, the most predictable way to fill a roster.
Personalised shop and the dollar-tier Special Offers
The single most important quirk for any third-party top-up is that the in-game shop is personalised. The Special Offers visible to you are not the offers your clanmate sees, and they rotate. That is why the Brawl Games catalogue lists separate "Any Special Offer at $0.99", "$4.99", "$9.99", "$19.99", "$49.99" and "$99.99" entries โ these mark a dollar tier, not a fixed bundle. Before placing an order, open your in-game shop, find a Special Offer at the correct tier, confirm it is currently visible to you, and only then check out: the contents of the bundle are decided by your shop at payment time. If the offer disappears before delivery, it cannot be reinstated. The duplicate "(login)" and "(Supercell Store)" entries cover two delivery paths for the same product. Direct purchases through store.supercell.com come with a Supercell-funded bonus in Gems and Wild Cards, since the platform skips the 30 percent App Store and Google Play cut. The catch is regional: store.supercell.com has been blocked for players in regions where Supercell pulled the game from local storefronts in 2022, and the site shows a regional placeholder unless the account itself was registered outside the affected region.
Player Tag, Supercell ID and the shared-email risk
Every Clash Royale account has a Player Tag โ eight uppercase alphanumeric characters with a hash prefix, like #GG829JGY. The tag is used by RoyaleAPI, friend invites and clan tools, but it is not a payment identifier. Top-ups travel through the email tied to the Supercell ID on the account: the operator signs into Supercell ID on a non-affected Google Play, App Store or Supercell Store, completes the purchase, and the Gems or Diamond Pass land on the linked Clash Royale profile. That is a real difference from Genshin Impact, where the UID is the payment key, and from Mobile Legends, where Player ID plus Server ID are required. One Supercell ID is one email, and it bundles together Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Squad Busters, Hay Day and Boom Beach โ signing in with that email reaches every Supercell game on the account at once. After a third-party purchase it is worth signing out of all sessions from the Supercell ID settings and rotating to a backup email if the account holds more than one Supercell game. A single device can hold up to 50 distinct Supercell IDs, which is convenient for family accounts and players who manage multiple Clash Royale profiles.
Season 82, Season 83 and the 10th Anniversary Album Event
As of 1 May 2026 the live cycle is Season 82, which closes on 4 May. Season 83 starts the next day and brings two new Heroes, balance changes and the next chapter of the Album Event launched in March for the tenth anniversary. The Album is a collection mechanic built around nine nostalgic Scenes from Clash Royale's history: players gather Snippets from events and Special Offers, fill in the scenes and earn Hero Magic Archer, an exclusive Tower Skin and an emote on completion. A share of the Snippets drop only from paid shop offers, so finishing the Album Event usually leans on Gems. The same March 2026 update extended the Trophy Road to 14,000 trophies (the cap was 10,000 before), brought back Global Tournaments and added the Social Tab with Quickplay modes โ 1v1, 3x Elixir and Sudden Death between friends. At the top of the ladder Hero Mega Minion and Hero Ice Golem are still in rotation, while Boss Bandit and Archer Queen anchor the Champion meta โ that demand pattern shapes Champion Wild Card and Evolution Shard pricing as the new season opens.
How to place a Clash Royale top-up
- Open Clash Royale and check the email tied to your account in the Supercell ID settings.
- Pick the Gem denomination or Season 83 Diamond Pass option from the catalogue.
- For a dollar-tier Special Offer, confirm in advance that the offer is visible inside your in-game shop.
- Provide the Supercell ID email, not the Player Tag, and double-check the data on checkout.
- Wait for delivery โ Gems and the pass appear on the linked Clash Royale account.
Sister projects from Supercell
- Brawl Stars โ Supercell's 3v3 mobile shooter with Gems and the Brawl Pass, signed into through the same Supercell ID as Clash Royale.
- Clash of Clans โ the parent base-builder, sharing the Gem economy and Supercell ID. Royal Champion, sometimes searched for in Clash Royale, actually lives here.
- Squad Busters โ Supercell's 2024 release with the same Gems and seasonal pass, signed in via one Supercell ID.
The Brawl Games catalogue covers all six Gem denominations from 80 to 14,000, both delivery paths for the Season 83 Diamond Pass (Supercell ID login and Supercell Store), Evolution Shards bundles and Champion Wild Card packs. Checkout needs the Supercell ID email rather than the Player Tag; payment is accepted from Russia and the CIS. The on-site chat handles questions about a specific Special Offer or order status before you commit.
