Chained Together: a chained co-op escape from hell
Chained Together is a co-op platformer by Anegar Games, released on June 19, 2024. The premise is simple and cruel: up to four players are bound by a single chain and dropped at the very bottom of hell. To escape, you have to climb upward through vertical levels — and the chain never lets you stray more than a few meters from each other. One player slips off a ledge and drags the whole team back into the abyss. This is where both legendary comebacks and loud voice-chat arguments are born.
What kind of game it is
It's a game about trust, timing and nerves. Jumps have to be coordinated almost to the second: while one player grabs a ledge, the others can't yank the chain downward. Levels run vertically, checkpoints are sparse, and a mistake means a long climb back. The controls stay readable and fair — whatever happens to you is a result of your jump and the chain physics, not the game cheating you.
Co-op and solo
The main mode is cooperative: two to four people on one chain. Bring a full squad or run it as a duo — the dynamic shifts a lot. There's also a single-player mode for learning the ropes without anyone else's mistakes, but the game's true character shines in co-op. Controllers are supported, so you can settle in with a gamepad.

Tips for newcomers
Agree on roles: let one person set the pace and call out when to jump while the others sync up. Don't rush upward in reckless bursts — short, measured jumps are safer than one heroic leap. Keep the chain in view; its tension tells you who's in a vulnerable spot right now. And settle in advance that falling is normal and funny, not a reason to start arguing — that's how more teams (and friendships) make it to the finish.
Hardware and Steam Deck
The game is light and runs fine on ordinary PCs, and since it's a full Steam release you can take it on Steam Deck too. Once the gift lands in your library, you install Chained Together like any other Steam game — no separate launchers or codes involved.
