Brotato β a potato wielding six guns against alien hordes
Brotato is a top-down auto-shooter roguelite where you control a potato stranded on a hostile planet. You only steer the movement β your weapons fire on their own β but building a setup that actually works and surviving the alien onslaught is on you. You can carry up to six weapons at once: knives, shotguns, SMGs, lasers, staffs, fists β mixed in ways no other shooter lets you. Buy a Steam gift from us and you get the full base game straight into your Steam library, with no key or code to type in.
What kind of game this actually is
Each Brotato run is a string of roughly twenty short waves. You survive 20 to 60 seconds against swarms of aliens, scoop up the materials they drop, and between waves you visit the shop: buy and sell weapons, upgrade items, reshuffle your stats. A single run takes about twenty minutes, and in that time your potato goes from a helpless vegetable to a walking meat grinder. The replayability comes from dozens of characters, each with its own style: some start with one powerful weapon, some lean entirely on melee, some live off crit chance or life regen. The builds come together differently every time, and that's the whole hook.
Who made Brotato and when
The game was created by French indie developer Thomas Gervraud under the studio name Blobfish. Brotato hit Steam early access in autumn 2022 and clicked with players right away, with the full 1.0 release landing on June 23, 2023. By 2025 it had sold more than 10 million copies, and further development and content support were taken over by Evil Empire (the studio behind Dead Cells and The Rogue Prince of Persia) under Blobfish's oversight. So the project is very much alive and still getting updates.
Steam gift: how it works
We deliver Brotato as a Steam gift through a bot, not as a key. You provide your Steam friend invite link and your account region, place the order, and our bot adds itself to your friends, sends the gift, then leaves once it's delivered. You don't need to accept the friend request manually β the bot handles that. Steam Guard on your account is not required. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes from checkout, though it isn't a hard deadline and can occasionally run a bit longer. All you do is click βAccept Giftβ in Steam, and Brotato is in your library for good, exactly like a normal purchase.
Region is the key condition
This is the one thing newcomers trip over. The gift is available for 47 Steam regions, and the gift region must match your Steam account region β otherwise the system simply won't let you accept it. So at checkout, pick the variant that matches your account's country. One more thing: Brotato must not already be in that account's library β Steam doesn't let you receive a gift for a game you already own. If you're gifting it to someone, make sure they don't have the game yet.
What the base game includes
The base version of Brotato has all the core content: dozens of playable characters, a huge arsenal from a primitive rock to plasma turrets, hundreds of build items, a spread of difficulties and an endless mode for those who want to see how far they can push. That's tens of hours even if you never buy the DLC. Local co-op was also added in one of the big updates, so you can grind aliens two players on one screen.
The Abyssal Terrors DLC
On top of the base game, Brotato has a paid expansion called Abyssal Terrors, released on PC on October 25, 2024. It adds 20 new waves, new enemies, elites and bosses, 14 new characters, 16 weapons and over 30 items. Note that it's a DLC: it requires the base game and is NOT included in this Steam gift β it's bought separately on Steam. Base first, expansion later if it grabs you.

Common questions before buying
βWill it run on a weak PC?β β yes, Brotato is very light and launches fine even on old laptops and the Steam Deck. βDo I need internet?β β no, after installing the game runs fully offline. βIs it the same version as in the regular store?β β yes, you get a full copy of the game on Steam, with cloud saves, achievements and updates. The only difference is the delivery method: it's a gift, not a key.
