What Borderlands 2 is about

The story revolves around Handsome Jack, one of gaming's most charismatic villains. You play as one of the new Vault Hunters (Salvador, Maya, Axton, Zer0, plus Gaige the Mechromancer and Krieg the Psycho via DLC) and fight your way across Pandora, hoarding ever more absurd weapons. Gunplay, skill-tree builds, boss farming for legendaries and endless four-player co-op are why the game has stayed beloved for over a decade.

How the editions differ

We offer several gift variants — pick what fits you:

• Borderlands 2 (base) — the original game without the story DLC. A perfect start if you want the main campaign and would rather grab the add-ons later.
• Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition — the richest option. Alongside the base game it bundles all four major story add-ons from the Season Pass: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt and Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, plus two extra classes — the Mechromancer and the Psycho — and the first Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade.
• 4-Pack — four copies of the base game in a single lot. Handy when you want to drag your friends straight into co-op.

If you plan to play through all the extra content and push your level higher, go for the Game of the Year. If you only want the core story, the base version is plenty.

What the Game of the Year does NOT include

Let's be straight: this edition was put together back in 2013, so it does NOT include content released afterwards. It has none of the five Headhunter mini add-ons (the Halloween, holiday and other themed missions), no Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 (Digistruct Peak and the extra level cap), and no later cosmetic packs. You get the base campaign and all four big story DLCs, but that late endgame content can be bought separately on Steam if you want it.

Regional versions (RU/CIS)

Some lots are marked RU / CIS — that's the gift variant for Steam accounts from Russia and the CIS. Here's the key thing about gifts: your Steam account region must match the gift region, otherwise Steam simply won't let you accept it. If your account is Russian, take the RU/CIS variant; if it's in another region, choose the regular (multi-region) version. Not sure about your region? Check it in your Steam wallet settings.

How the gift delivery works

This isn't a key you type in by hand — it's a proper Steam Gift. After payment our bot adds itself as your friend via your invite link, sends the gift and automatically leaves once it's delivered — you don't need to accept anything manually. The whole thing usually takes a couple of minutes from checkout. System requirements and platforms

Borderlands 2 is the Windows version for Steam. By modern standards it's light on hardware and runs fine even on weaker machines, and it plays great on Steam Deck and via Proton on Linux. Once the gift is accepted you own the game forever — it's a full purchase, not a subscription.
