ASTRONEER — Steam Gift

About the game

ASTRONEER is a laid-back space sandbox where you literally sculpt planets by hand: dig terrain with your tool, build a base from printed modules and explore seven worlds solo or in co-op for up to four players. We deliver it as a Steam gift — it stays in your Steam library forever.

Once the gift is delivered it cannot be refunded. If Steam rejects the gift due to region mismatch, the full amount is returned to your site balance.
Available items are processed automatically. Any issues will be resolved starting from 9:00 MSK.

Your Steam account region must match the gift region, and ASTRONEER must not already be in your library. Pick the variant for your region.

FAQ

ASTRONEER — a space sandbox gifted to you through Steam

ASTRONEER drops you onto alien planets with a single terrain tool and a lot of curiosity. There's no shooting aliens or grinding armor here — you literally sculpt the landscape with your hands, pull dirt around like clay, dig tunnels toward a planet's core and build a base out of modules you printed yourself. We deliver ASTRONEER to you as a Steam gift: the game arrives on your account via a bot, and from then on it's permanently yours in your Steam library.

What ASTRONEER is

It's a sandbox adventure about space exploration from the American studio System Era Softworks. The game left early access for its full release on February 6, 2019 (early access itself began back in December 2016), so this is a long-polished, well-expanded project rather than a raw prototype. Third-person view, a soft pastel art style, zero aggression and maximum freedom — ASTRONEER hooks you precisely with its calm and that classic "just five more minutes, let me finish this base" feeling.

What you actually do on the planets

Every planet in ASTRONEER is procedurally generated and fully deformable: your terrain tool sucks up and deposits soil, opens caves and flattens ground for buildings. You gather resources, smelt them into refined materials, print equipment on fabricators and chain production lines — from a wind turbine all the way to a large space shuttle. The story nudges you toward mysterious alien structures and planetary cores, then sets you loose: colonize all seven planets in the system, build a perfect automated base, or just go dune-bashing in a rover.

  • 🪐 Seven planets and moons, each with its own terrain, resources and hazards.
  • ⛏ Fully reshapeable terrain: dig, build and level the ground at will.
  • 🔧 Deep crafting plus automation of mining and manufacturing.
  • 👩‍🚀 Co-op for up to four players — explore the cosmos together.

What the gift includes: the game vs. the commercial license

There are two different options on the page, and it matters not to mix them up. The base ASTRONEER game is the regular full version for personal play: install and play like everyone else. ASTRONEER - Commercial License is a special license for businesses — internet cafés, gaming lounges, classrooms and other public venues where people pay to use the equipment. If you're an ordinary at-home player, the base game is what you want; the commercial license won't do anything for you. Only pick the commercial option if you're deliberately equipping a gaming club or a similar venue.

How we deliver the Steam gift

Delivery runs through our supplier's bot. We need two things from you: your Steam friend invite link and your account region. After that it's automatic: the bot adds itself as your friend, sends the gift, and leaves your friends list once it's delivered — you don't need to accept anything. The whole thing usually takes a couple of minutes from checkout, though that's typical speed, not a hard guarantee. A nice detail: Steam Guard is not required to receive the gift, and the account doesn't need any prior playtime or purchases.

Region and account state — the key condition

A Steam gift will only go through if your account region matches the gift's region and your profile allows friend requests. The base game is available across a wide set of regions, the commercial license across a narrower one, so pick the variant that fits your region at checkout. And one more rule that causes most failed deliveries: you must not already own the game on your account — Steam simply won't let you accept a gift for a game you already have. If ASTRONEER is already in your library, the gift won't go through.

Where you play after activation

You receive ASTRONEER on Steam, meaning you play on a Windows PC. The game runs great on Steam Deck and supports a controller, so you can lay out your base from the couch. ASTRONEER also exists on other platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch), but your gift is specifically the Steam PC version, tied to your Steam account forever.

Questions before you buy

Do you need Steam Guard? No, it isn't required to receive the gift. What if the bot didn't add me? Almost always it's because friend requests are blocked or the invite link is outdated — refresh the link and make sure friend-adding is allowed. Is this the full game? Yes, the base option is the complete ASTRONEER with nothing cut; the commercial license is a separate story for venues.
