Assassin's Creed Valhalla — buy the Viking saga as a Steam gift

A cold sea, a longship with a carved dragon head at the prow, and your clan, for whom a raid isn't cruelty but a way to survive. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is Ubisoft's huge Viking-age adventure, where as Eivor you lead your people from a harsh but beloved home in Norway to the green lands of England. With us you get the game as a Steam gift, and it drops straight into your library.

The game launched on November 10, 2020, published by Ubisoft. It's one of the biggest entries in the series: dozens of hours of story, a whole country to explore and that classic Assassin intrigue beneath a layer of Viking epic.

What the saga is about

You're Eivor, a warrior of the Raven Clan (you pick the gender). After a clash that leaves home cramped and dangerous, you take the clan across the sea to settle a new home in a fractured England of Saxon kingdoms. Around you are alliances and betrayals, local rulers, druids, and beneath it all runs the ancient war of the Hidden Ones (Assassins) and the Order (Templars). The story is told like a real saga: drama, humor, mythological visions and visits to the halls of the gods in Asgard.

Open world and raids

England here is huge and alive: marshes, forests, old Roman ruins, villages and fortified monasteries stuffed with treasure. The key mechanic is raids: you pull the longship ashore, sound the horn, and your crew charges in with you to smash strongholds for resources to grow your settlement. Combat is brutal and heavy: two-handed axes, paired blades, shields, bows, and you can dual-wield your favorite weapon in both hands.

  • Raids and assaults — gather resources to develop your base.
  • The Ravensthorpe settlement — build homes, barracks, a smithy, attract new heroes and stories.
  • Progression and gear — a skill tree, weapon and armor upgrades tuned to your style.
  • Activities — hunting, fishing, drinking contests and flyting word-duels.

Stealth, Assassin roots and playstyle

Despite the axes and the roar of raids, Valhalla doesn't forget the series' roots. Eivor has a Hidden Blade and a full kit of Assassin tricks: you can clear a camp quietly, picking off sentries from rooftops and haystacks, or crash in head-on with your shield up. The game rarely forces the choice: most situations can be handled both stealthily and loudly, and you decide what kind of Viking to be today. A special joy is the investigations, artifact puzzles and world events — short, often surprisingly funny or touching little stories scattered all across England.

Editions: Standard, Deluxe and full bundles

Check the selected option on the card. Standard is the base game. Deluxe adds the Ultimate Pack: Berserker-themed gear, a longship and settlement pieces plus a set of runes. Fuller editions like Complete include the Season Pass and the big expansions — Wrath of the Druids, The Siege of Paris and Dawn of Ragnarök — which add new lands and dozens of hours of story. If you want it all at once, look to those bundles.

Important note about Ubisoft Connect

Keep one thing in mind: Valhalla is a Ubisoft game, so even the Steam version will ask you to sign in to a Ubisoft Connect account on first launch. Registration is free and quick, with no paid subscriptions. The gift itself still arrives and activates through Steam as usual — Ubisoft Connect is only needed to launch the game, not to receive the gift.

Gifting Valhalla: the mechanics

It's honest and manual. After the order our bot sends you a friend request or an invite link: Steam → «Friends» → «Add a friend» → accept the invite → confirm the incoming gift. We don't log into your account or ask for passwords — you click «Accept» yourself. Enabling Steam Guard isn't required.

Region mismatch? Money back to balance

The gift's region is set by the lot's currency: the price currency = the shipping region. Pick the lot for your Steam account. If the region doesn't match, Steam won't let you accept the gift — we return the funds to your store balance. Same if you already own the game: a duplicate can't be accepted, so the money goes back to your balance. You lose nothing — just take another lot. Half a minute checking the currency next to the price saves you the extra fuss.

Why order the saga from us

You get the full game as a gift, with no mandatory paid subscriptions and no sign-ups on dubious services, a transparent Steam flow and a clear balance refund. We honestly warn you about both the region and the free Ubisoft Connect requirement — up front, not after payment. The game stays on your account for good, as a full copy.

Where a fresh Viking should start

Valhalla is big, and that's fine — don't try to clear the map in one sitting. Level the skills that fit your style first: love stealth, invest in the shadow-assassination branch; prefer a bloodbath, pour into strength and health. Don't ignore growing Ravensthorpe: new buildings unlock useful services, merchants and whole story arcs with companions. And dip into world events between chapters often — they're a great palate cleanser after long assaults and toss you extra loot. Also, don't forget to send out your raven: aerial scouting saves loads of time before a raid.

Is Valhalla your kind of game

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is for those who love long open-world RPGs, the Viking atmosphere, raids and slowly growing your own base. If you're drawn to stories where you can hack through a fight, sneak quietly and trade verses by the fire, this saga will pull you in for a long time.
