Yasuke carves through enemies with a katana, kanabo (war club), naginata and bow, breaks guards and parries blows. You switch between the heroes through the story, each with their own progression, skills, gear and character — a genuinely different experience to match your mood.

🏯 The open world and what to do

The world of Shadows is a large, living Sengoku-era Japan: castle towns, bustling ports, quiet shrines, villages and pastoral landscapes. Weather and seasons shift and affect play: snow hides your tracks, rain muffles sound, and light and shadow work for your stealth. Expect investigations, target eliminations, hideout upgrades, gear crafting, rooftop parkour and dozens of hours of main and side content in the series' signature style.

📀 Editions: Standard, Gold and Ultimate — the difference

Let's be honest about it, since it's a common question. The story base is the same and uncut in every edition — what differs is the set of expansions and bonuses.

• Standard Edition — the full main game with the entire campaign. The ideal pick if you just want the story with no extras.
• Gold Edition — the base game plus the Season Pass: story expansions (including a major expansion set on Awaji Island) and a bonus quest, plus a few days of early access before release. For those who want the whole story with future DLC in one go.
• Ultimate Edition — everything in Gold plus the Ultimate Pack: extra cosmetics, gear sets and skill points for a quick head start. The maximum set for fans.

Simple rule of thumb: only want the campaign → Standard; want the story expansions and early access → Gold; want absolutely everything with cosmetics and bonuses → Ultimate. Cosmetics and skill points grant no advantage over other players — the game is single-player.

🔗 A Steam-version note: Ubisoft Connect

An important technical detail: like other recent Ubisoft games, the Steam PC version asks you to link a free Ubisoft Connect account on first launch. It's a one-time step that takes a minute, and the purchase itself stays on your Steam account — just keep it in mind before your first start. 🇷🇺 Russian language

For anyone who cares about Russian: according to Steam the language is supported as text — a Russian interface and subtitles, so following the story is comfortable. There's no full Russian voice-over: the audio is in other languages, and for atmosphere the game even offers an authentic Japanese track with subtitles.
