Among Us for Steam: buy it as a gift and call your crew to the cafeteria
Among Us is the game that turned millions of people into detectives and liars at the same time. Tiny studio InnerSloth released it back in 2018, but the worldwide boom came later β when streamers and friend groups discovered the most honest genre about the most dishonest topic: spot the traitor at the table. There's no AAA graphics and no complex controls here. There's a spaceship, little colored beans, a task list, and one simple question that decides everything: who do you trust today?
We deliver Among Us as a Steam gift. You place the order, our bot sends the game straight to your account, and it stays yours forever β just like any game bought on Steam. Below we break down how the game itself plays, how the Commercial License differs, what matters about region, and how the gift delivery works.
Crew vs impostors: how Among Us plays
A team of several players ends up on a spaceship (and later a base, a skyscraper, and other maps). Most are peaceful crewmates. Their job: run around the compartments doing small tasks β fix wiring, fuel the engine, scan a card in medbay. But hidden among the crew are impostors β one, two, or three depending on settings. Their goal is the opposite: quietly take out the crew, sabotage systems, and not get caught.
When someone finds a body or hits the emergency button, voting begins. This is where all the magic of Among Us is born: people argue, accuse, defend themselves, catch each other on inconsistencies ("you were in electrical, but you said you fixed shields?"). The impostor has to lie convincingly; the crew has to see through the lie. Whoever gets thrown into space by mistake loses. Each round is short, tense, and different every time β because it depends not on the engine, but on the people behind the screens.
Why Among Us is so easy to fall for
- Almost zero barrier to entry. Controls are a couple of buttons, the rules take a minute to explain. Your grandma or your ten-year-old cousin can jump right in.
- It's a game about communication. The best part happens not on the map but in the discussion: bluffing, psychology, the reputation of "the one who always lies."
- Cross-play. Among Us puts players from PC, phones, and consoles in the same room β no friend gets left out over their device.
- Endless replayability. Maps, roles (sheriff, scientist, engineer, guardian angel), custom settings, skins and pets β every group builds its own flavor of chaos.
What the base version includes
Buying Among Us gets you the full game with all the main maps β The Skeld, Mira HQ, Polus, The Airship, The Fungle β classic deduction mode, and ongoing free updates from InnerSloth. Cosmetic packs (some hats, skins, pets) are sold as separate DLC, but that doesn't touch the heart of the game: the whole core is already in the base version. This is a complete game, not a demo or an upgrade.
Among Us β Commercial License: who it's for
A separate catalog entry is the Among Us β Commercial License. First the key point: this is not a second copy of the game and not a content pack for a regular player. It's an official InnerSloth license you need if you show Among Us in a commercial context: gaming cafes, play rooms, corporate events, paid-entry tournaments, public showings for an organization. For home nights with friends it is not required β the regular base game is enough there. And if you do need the license, remember: you still need the base Among Us to actually run the game β the Commercial License does not replace it.
Gift region β the main thing to check
A Steam gift is only accepted when your account region matches the gift region. The base game has many regional variants in our catalog β just pick the one matching your Steam account. The Commercial License has noticeably fewer regions, so check it especially carefully. And the second mandatory condition: Among Us must not already be in the recipient account's library β Steam won't let you accept a gift for a game you already own, and that's the most common reason for failure.
How the gift delivery works
We deliver Among Us through our bot, and you barely have to do anything. At checkout you provide your Steam friend invite link and account region. From there the bot adds itself as your friend, sends the gift, and automatically leaves your friends list after delivery β you don't need to accept the request. Steam Guard is not required, and the account doesn't need to own the game or be "warmed up" in any way. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes from the moment you order; if the bot couldn't add you, it's almost always restricted friend requests on your profile or an expired link, in which case we'll retry with a fresh link.
What pairs well with Among Us
If you like Among Us, chances are you'll enjoy other "play with friends" games from our catalog. Check out Fall Guys β a fun battle-royale obstacle course for the same crowd; Goose Goose Duck β social deduction in the same spirit but with geese and an expanded set of roles; and Phasmophobia β a co-op horror about ghost hunting that also lives on voice chat and team trust.
The short version on buying
Among Us is a cheap way to assemble an evening everyone will remember: someone will swear they're innocent, someone will lie perfectly and walk away clean. You buy a Steam gift, check the region and that the game isn't already in the library, get it on your account in a couple of minutes β and call the crew. The golden rule: trust, but verify those tasks.
